Most veterinarian surgeries in Darwin and the rural area will accept injured wildlife. They will assess the animal and then call Wildcare to care for the animal.

What do I do if I find an injured or abandoned baby possum and cannot take it to the veternarian?
Keep it in a pillowslip or something similar in a warm, dark and quiet place away from pets and noise – not in air-conditioning. If it is a baby without fur it needs to be kept warm so place a bottle of hot water wrapped in a towel next to it Offer water only to babies and fruit and water to adults. Go to the Wildlife – Possums page for more information.
